A Quick Traffic Update

Email This Entry

Posted by Derek

I'm traveling today, and have no time for a blog post, but I wanted to thank everyone for another record month of traffic around here. Nearly 820,000 page views beats even the previous outlier, back in April when I was linked to by xkcd.com. And I owe that, of course, to those Eight Toxic Food Additives, a post that got picked up all over the place (and is still echoing around). But I also owe that figure, naturally, to everyone who's taken the time to stop by - so thanks!

Why does the traffic matter? It's not like you get paid for writing this stuff. Well, at least not directly as far as I can see. Most of those visits are non-chemists and a one-time thing. Plus this month I didn't talk about any of your posts on my Facebook page, so it hurts my ego a bit.

Brain-storming is wht we need in a society, and I thank you Derek for making everyone of us to think abt so many things through this blog! So its a matter of proud of course to see traffic on the blog, even if its not going to pay you! :)

I most normlly post your url to randi.org (James Randi Educational Foundation - Forum. Did that even more than normal on the 8 foods and followups - but there have been a number of others - and I mention fromm time to time my favorite - Things I won't Work With - which, like many others I am patiently waiting to see in expanded form. And, Max Gergel who I truly wish I had known!!!

GN: Lots of people get to read your work now.

BN: You seem to be getting lots of spam comments, which use your popularity to sell the kinds of things that spammers need bogus comments to sell.
