Looking for another way to avoid doing some work for a bit? The latest Tangled Bank roundup of science-blogging is up. This weekend, I update the blogroll. There are too many good ones that I'm missing.
Observation 1) "YoungFemaleScientist", "GrrlScientist", "Dr. Mom" -- blogging seems to attract a lot of female scientists who are self-conscious about being female. I dunno. My department is probably majority female, so it seems like a funny thing to wave as a badge of distinction.
Observation 2) I'm sympathetic to "YoungFemaleScientist"'s situation, but can't help chuckling a bit at all the fuss about how this is showing us the dark side of science. Sorry, but this story doesn't even begin to approach the dark side; it barely rates as mid-afternoon!
